    Hurney was always out of sight too. Honestly, if I was a GM I'd have to watch in a room by myself where nobody could see my reactions.

    Until we flush out the RB contracts that Hurney saddled us with what could Gettleman do. Gettleman handled the Smith departure HORRIBLY but what else

    I agree that Gettleman is less shitty, but shitty is still shitty and thus should not be celebrated.

    He antagonized Jordan Gross into retirement. He pissed away the draft picks after the first round. He refused to do anything whatsoever regarding the offensive line. He refused to sign anyone for more than peanuts at safety or wide receiver to prove how brilliant he is. He refused to bring in a competent returner. He signed off on Mike Shula becoming and then staying the offensive coordinator. He gave Ron Rivera a contract extension.

    For fuck's sake, Paul, we've discussed this stuff ad nauseum for over a year. Do you understand that the Panthers currently do have cap space? Gettleman could have signed Anthony Collins. He could have signed Donald Penn. He could have signed any number of free agents who didn't get huge contracts, but the fat man didn't want to do that because he wants the fans and media praising him for getting the best bargains.
