    Plus Tepper would get to feel woke for hiring the first Arab American head coach. It's a good way to touch all of your bases while also hiring a competent person.

    Persian is used by Iranians who are ashamed their racial identity.

    No. Persia doesn't exist, and there's a ton of history in between the past and the present. Moreover, his parents are both native to Iran as is he. Since he immigrated here as a citizen of Iran, he is now an Iranian American. At least officially or some shit. For me, I have plenty of names for folks from the sandbox in which he hails.
