How do you print a list of files from a window on a PC?

You'll have to download utility to do it. The bright side is that it they don't just print as much as is visible on the screen, but rather the entire contents...

No, say I have to give a customer a CD of a job, on the PC how do I give that customer a list of the files? Print screen shit don't work. I usually just don't give a list if it's a PC job, I figure if they using a PC, chances are they ain't going to know what it's a list of. No offense to pc users, but it's true. However, I do on occasion, take a picture of the window and paste it into say a word file, and print from there. But that's a pain in the ass. Guess I'm spoiled with File>Print Window. I guess the PC's will catch up someday

the mac os is better than windows. No question. Mac OS X is still a little gimpy, but I'm sure it'll be great. Now if people would only write programs for that thing, it'd be a great option for the average user.

I guess you can tell what nights I get jobs for the pc. I large portion of pc jobs come from beginning graphic artists, who regularly begin their careers with pcs because they are cheaper and many more lower budget programs are available to them, instead of your industry standards, Quark, PageMaker, PhotoShop, we get files in Corel, Word, Paint and even when they are in the right programs, the files are lo-res and RGB. Most do not know even know how to even find their fonts on the computer much less copy them to a disk.

But seriously, you can either download a window capture utility (from somewhere like download.com) or all you have to do, in Windows, is
1. click on the desired window (to make it active)
2. press Alt+Print Screen - this will place an image of the active window (or entire desktop if no window has the focus) on the clipboard
3. Open something like MS Paint or MS Word
4. Ctrl+V to paste it into the empty image or document
to get a picture of a window that you can save or print.

well, that would be the problems of the user. Not the machine. Idiots can't run Macs either.

True, but it certainly adds to the problems. We also get files that have a lot to do to them on the Mac as well. We get a lot of web designers sending us files for print, and minimum resolution for print is 300 dpi, not 72 dpi, and it has to be CMYK, not RGB. I still like PC's, they just still don't belong in the printing industry.
