How 'bout them Hoosiers?

I think it's kinda cool that the Cinderella that beat Duke may end up winning it all. I didn't think they could beat Oklahoma either. I guess next game I won't think they can beat Kansas or Maryland.

I'll pull for Maryland if they beat Kansas just because they're ACC, but it's hard not to like the Cinderella now.

I hate Indiana. I'm sick of hearing their stupid coach say how much his team has "overcome the odds" and how they "get no respect." Every overachieving team uses that us-against-the-world strategy, and it's getting old. I'm sick of hearing about how much "heart" the Hoosiers have. Can't we get past that by now and just say that they're good?

Yeah but JCB, how much do you want Maryland or Kansas to win it? As a Duke fan, I'd rather Indiana win it than Kansas, and Maryland only because they're ACC. Maryland or Indiana.

Got to admit. I like Indy. Even though Kansas is my only Final 4 team, I like Indy.

I like Indiana too but I'm not sure I like Mike Davis. He acts like everyone is against him all the time. Some of his expressions on the sidelines are pitiful. I think he may be a decent head coach but let's see if he can do it after the Knight players are gone. I do wish him well as a coach but it may have created a monster he won't be able to contrtol. Hoosier fans DEMAND excellence, not like UNC fans who EXPECT excellence.

I grew up 20 mins from the Indiana border (in Michigan) and heard all the crap about Indiana growing up.

I'll say this - everyone was against Mike Davis. Remember the students rioting on campus when Bob Knight was fired? Many players were part of that riot.

Also, he did it with Knight's players even when Knight couldn't do it with his own players. What does that say? It tells me that he's better than Knight.

As far as the "monster" issue - you may be right. They were sayign during the broadcast that Knight took his team to the Final Four in his 2nd year although they didn't get into the Championship game. Mike Davis has surpassed Knight's record (thus far), so either he's going to find the expectations too much to endure (like Knight did) or he will just be loved and adored (like many did for Knight).

Indiana is basketball crazed. High School basketball is King in Indiana. Even Bobby Knight took second. Lived there a few years. Corn country. They used to call Indianapolis "sleepy town."
