    at year 12 Rolle's a little old for this young defense. Granted if he can be a relatively cheap nickel he can be an asset - same for Bly - but certainly is a short term move for either.

    I'm good with Holt - but it's money we could spend better elsewhere. If Peppers goes away and we get a 1 and 3, sure, do it if it works. If not, we've got a ton of money into WR so we can be a little more efficient at passing the ball, and we're a poor man's version of the Saints with no defense whatsoever.

    It's kind of a dumb move by St. Louis to even let him go. Are they that cap-strapped? I understand the decision to release Pace, but Holt is still their best receiver and they're just tossing him away like garbage.

    He wouldn't take the paycut for st. louis or a rumored trade to Tennessee.

    they let Holt and Drew Bennett go.

    Which is fine on Bennett, he's underperformed from where I thought he was going to be, but it makes some sense to have any continuity at all there. Holt was still going to be worth something this year to them. To me, a defensive coach needs to have some sort of offensive continuity.
