Not necessarily. The "cooling off period" may be more for the players than the owners. IMO, the owners have thought this through from a business point of view. The players are fighting this on ego, not practicality. Maybe this is a way for the owners to try to get Upshaw & Co. from beating their chests for a minute and see the real picture. Just a suggestion.

I think Upshaws getting a few calls from these Vets getting or about to get cut to get back in there, were losing our jobs.

Everyone benefits form getting this done, just do it and quit posturing at the 12 hour.

I would like to think you are right and I hope you are, but at this point I am not letting my hopes get too high.

Hope for the best, expect the worst.

Exactly. That's why I think it's just an ego thing that's keeping it from getting done. Logically, it makes no sense for the players to balk at this. None at all.

PFT says some thing Tags and Upshaw have been acting together to try to force revenue sharing. The owners told Tags he's not in charge. Maybe the players told Upshaw they want money, not to restructure the balance of power of the league. Or they could just extend it by a couple of years, instead of 8 or so. 56% of all revenue is a whole lot more than they have now. So who knows.

I thought about the reverse the cut too. I do wonder. No one major has been cut yet. Short may have been cut anyway.

Maybe I am not doing the math correct but if 4% equates to 240 million per year wouldnt 56% equate to 3.36 billion per year....surely that isnt right is it?

Mike Anderson and Steve McNair might have something to say about that.

    Yep.

Try to remember, there are almost 1,700 players on active rosters the NFL, and a lot of those make $1m+ a season on average.

yeah, but damn thats a lot of money. Think about how much 3.36 Billion could change in the world. Imagine a poor nation in Africa that was donated 3.36 Billion dollars.....damn thats a lot of money.

Sorry, I guess I should have known what kind of money was involved but I just didnt make the connection.:thud:
