I wanted to see if the Sports Department might be interested in
having some fantasy football articles this year, but can't remember who heads the department now. You might remember me as the guy who won the Observer sports staff fantasy football league two years ago, and I've been a regular fantasy baseball columnist during that time for a nationally known website. I helped put out my first national fantasy football magazine this year with Peter Kreutzer and Lawr Michaels (both well-known fantasy professionals) as one of the writers, and I believe that will be on newsstands July 23rd.
Now that my credentials are out of the way, I am interested in doing
some side work just to earn a little money and thought the Observer might want to use my services. I can put together articles anywhere from one to seven per week, though I imagine one to three would be plenty. I can give you some sample articles to publish if you wish, and then judge whether or not you want to continue through the public reaction. I'm not sure what the
proper channels are to pursue this kind of thing, but if Thomas or someone
wants to discuss this, please feel free to get in touch with me. I am aware
that things are still tight and wouldn't be asking much for my time, but I
have no interest in doing a regular column for free. I already have
extensive national exposure so local experience will do nothing for me in
that respect.
