I'm trying to help out a friend who just lost his job.

His monitor is shot. Can you hook up a regular TV to your PC (in lieu of a monitor)?

No. Unless he has a tricky video card...

Computer monitors are a sort of different breed of animal -- namely they're not interlaced like a TV monitor is. If he DID hook it up (with the right card), it'd be really ugly for most uses (text in particular).

There are pretty cheap monitors out there... try ebay.

Your friend got a birthday or anything coming up? You can find a 15 inch monitor pretty cheap these days. I have seen them online for under 70 bucks.

I bought a 17" .22 dot Monitor on ebay for $17. The company said it had a scratch on the glass so I decided to gamble. You cant even see the scratch unless I show it to you.
