Yet another reason to stop watching the NFL.

I was going to respond with an angry rant, but then I bumped my head and it changed my personality

They're likely to become gameday mandatory in a few years. I could definitely see it at high school level.

How about just not playing football if you're scared of head injuries?

Wearing a helmet over your helmet is Boy In A Bubble type stuff.

That's why I think it hits lower leagues- it's going to become too costly to insure Peewee/middle/high school football leagues soon. Once they're in college- and getting paid now- it's no different than any other hazardous workplace. If the coming college football apocalypse leads to a true minor league they stop at high school if Colleges keep the teams but have to call players employees it probably also starts happening there.

If you were truly interested in keeping CTE down you would probably make it mandatory for lineman- My poorly educated opinion.

Go back 40 years and look at the equipment players wore.

Look at Barry Sanders or anyone.

HUGE shoulder pads, thigh pads, collar pad for many. BUT, the NFL is all about speed, so guys today wear very little protection because being fast is more important than being safe.
