Oscar Gamble is questionable? I thought he was retired.

    Gamble likely out

It's appearing more likely that the Carolina Panthers will be without starting cornerback Chris Gamble for their game at Arizona Sunday.

Gamble missed today's practice with an ankle injury and was listed as "questionable" on the team's injury report.

If Gamble doesn't play, Ricky Manning would start in his place in the Panthers' base defense. He would likely shift to the nickel position in long-yardage situations, with Dante Wesley playing cornerback.

Linebacker Adam Seward (foot) and special teams anchor Rod Smart (groin) missed Friday's practice and were downgraded from questionable to doubtful.

Everyone else practiced. Defensive tackle Kindal Moorehead (knee) and defensive ends Al Wallace (back) and Kemp Rasmussen (knee) were upgraded from questionable to probable. Running back Stephen Davis (knee) and safety Mike Minter (calf) remained probable.

    SD's knee...

Was it Stephen Davis' recently-fixed knee that was bothering him?
    :lalala:
    Damn, I hope not.

Even though this game should be as close to an easy win as there is in the NFL, we really need Gamble in there. Arizona's only strength is their receivers.
