If ego makes you great, Deion is all world. I would seriously take Darrell Green over Deion for a team. Green is not afraid to tackle and mess up his pretty face and would be there for you for the long haul. Not Deion, he is just a mercenary.

There are a couple of things that bother me about Deon....first he has not loyalty...and what I mean by that is...he is all about him...not his teammates. I remember when he went to San Fran from Atlanta. His first year he was running back a interception taunting his OLD teammates as he ran along the sideline. I think that is a sign that he had no respect for those guys. And second. I would not want my son immulating him and his unsportsmanlike behavior. Give me Barry Sanders who simply hands the ball to the ref when he scores...like he had been there before. I just don't respect Deon as a player because of his antics on the field.

I agree about his attitude etc. ...but as a shut'em down CB he was great.

Deion wasn't a great tackler when a power RB headed his way... but GENERALLY he didn't have to worry bout that

Prime Time was one of the best cover corners ever and he was a very good kick returner. I would not rate him that high on an all time weapons list though. I would have to go:

    1. Joe Montana - best QB to every play and best come from behind player ever.
    2. John Elway - right behind Montana
    3. Lawrence Taylor - changed the way teams play the game.
    4. Barry Sanders - best pure runner ever (and it is not close for second)
    5. Dan Marino - best passer ever.

how many rings do those guys have?

barry wasn't the best pure runner ever. he was a scrambling back who had enough speed and moves to elude tacklers.

give me emmitt smith ANY day of the week. at least emmit could take a hit and keep moving forward.

barry was an exciting back to watch -- as long as it's not 3rd-and-1 or anywhere near the goalline.

I don't see how any back could be rated ahead of Walter Payton - took a pounding - had speed, moves, strength, endurance.

Stayed healthy - team player, can't think of any negative issues regarding attittudes, contracts hassles, etc.

He just did his job - period. A damn good job

they were good - great even - But Dickerson got the big head and forced his way out of LA. and OJ - well I know it was off the field but he's kind of like Michael Jackson now - lost all respect for what he accomplised in his prior life.

I admire Payton as much for his attitude as his ability.

    Walter Payton :)

I wish I could have seen Barry on a good team one year, with a good o-line.:)
