So...would it be worth bringing back the fan grading system for the season? Or is it just kind of masochistic at this point.....

What do you mean by grades, specifically? Who are we grading, players or the team?

Usually it was unit by unit with praise/hate given to players and coaches.

    Pretty much, yeah.

    Such as:

    Quarterbacks - Grade, and why.

    Running backs - "

So and and so on. With game balls, goats, such and such. We did that when we won sometimes, I think....

    QB: C
Giving Cam some benefit of the doubt for being strapped with a terrible OC, but he's not getting better at the little things.

    RB: B
DeAngelo looks pretty good minus the week one fumbles.

    WR: B-
Difficult to grade this position with a QB who doesn't look for open receivers, but overall I still feel pretty good about it.

    TE: C
More of an indictment of what we have behind Olsen, but even Greg has let a few passes get away from him.

    OL: F
Bad, bad, bad. An better-than-expected week one is undone by a terrible game yesterday.

    DL: C+
Not playing to it's potential yet, but the potential is definitely there.

    LB: B-
This would be an A without Beason being forced into the lineup.

    DB: D-
I don't think anybody here should be a starter in the NFL.

    Special Teams: D
Better than it used to be, I guess.

    Coaching: F
    We've pretty much covered this.

QB: D Cam already has a bad rep may as well go all in and wave off the ST units on a 4th and short one of these days what's the worst that could happen?
RB: C Buffalo has a good Dline, our line sucks.
FB: N/A I don't watch them probably crappy
TE: B The rare good thing.
OL: F Shit shit shit. People are worried about losing gross but he's become Jeff Backus at this point a longtime player that looks good only when graded against his fellow lineman.
DL: D Alternate history fun Cordy Glenn held Kraken sackless at LT for the Bills we drafted Amini over him. Hurney's didn't leave his fingerprints on this team he left giant fucking gouges that bleed them of all capability to suceed.
LB: I hope Beason can enjoy the long string of backup jobs he gets after this year. Kuechly isn't as good as the lazy ass announcers say but we didn't make a worse pick instead. This is victory. Also James Anderson is doing well in Chicago.
CB: F Captain Motherland- Thank you Ronde. We knew they would be trash getting no help from the offense isn't improving things.
S: F Godfrey will be back next year. Slower.
K/P: Gano is going to get a lot of field goals that look like extra points.

Coaches: F Shula sucks we had fair warning of this the most memorable offensive play in a game he coached was the Prothro catch.
McDermott should be fire and the corpse of Jim Johnson installed as DC.
Rivera has taken all the worst from the coaches he worked under- Andy Reid's game management, Lovie Smith's offensive hiring, Norv.

Fans: D SOME OF THEM WANTED CHUD FIRED

QB - F - we now know why they didn't go deep Week 1, do you keep throwing deep if the QB over throws the WR's by 5 yards every time?
RB - B - considering that teams are daring us to beat them with the pass, deangelo has played exceptional
    WR/TE - B - i have to wonder what they are thinking
OL - D - Cam obviously is taking a lot of hits
D - D - secondary sucks but they had all day to throw
Coaching - D - no killer instinct and it doesnt appear any leadership or trust either

Coaching - Incomplete. I can't see where Rivera will ever get a HC gig again

    Alright, let's do it then.

    Quarterbacks - D

Despite being fairly steady last week, Newton stunk yesterday. He's looking at his first read only or the safety valve, and that's it. I don't think he fucking cares. He still isn't stepping into his throws, he plays lazy, and I don't think he's nearly as confident as we think he is. He can't fucking speak clearly, so how can we expect him to fucking communicate to his teammates?

We've simplified his fucking playcalls to a number pretty much, and this shit still continues. It seems like he's regressed. He can't read zone coverages for shit it seems, and has a terrible playfake, he pumpfakes players running inside curls FFS, and....and I wanted to like him, but he stinks.

If he's not taking his drop and executing his pass immediately and the receiver isn't near perfect with his route, it usually warrants an incompletion, if not disaster. Its year 3. He's still playing like a mobile rookie with a big arm.

    Runningbacks - B+

Williams and Tolbert were great I thought. I was not happy with the run design, and the read option we ran was retarded, considering each time it went to the back, and Cam never took it. Sooooo....

If we stayed with a more balanced (I'm not talking about split POST game, rather during) attack, I think we see better results. But Williams was back to his old self on pass protection, and Tolbert played well. Not sure why we didn't run far more screens, draws and delayed hand offs, considering the pressure....oh well.

    Wide Receivers - C

Still a few drops out there, and even though Newton fucking overthrew them left and right, it never seemed like anyone really broke a route open. But it was hard to tell, when your QB couldn't hit them even if they were....

    Offensive Line - D

The tackles were man handled, and Bell shouldn't even be out there. I'm not quite sure why this is still happening. He's shown he can't start at RT in this league, and at this point, anyone - anyone should replace him, just to see if we can get better. The results on gameday are simply awful.

Kalil isn't back, Gross is getting worse, Silatolu's average at best, and....ugh, this is just bad, bad news. Gettleman has his work cut out for him....this unit is hideous, and aging, and needs a total overhaul. Wharton can't get in playing shape fast enough.

    Defensive Line - D-

Bad game, not unit I hope. I know they rush then read, and I get that (although not sure why they bragged about it and told the entire league how they roll, although it's probably not a secret) but if they're going to do that, then hopefully you'd get some pass rush with that. In this case, the running back got over 100 yards, a rookie drove down for the game winning score with no time outs and barely over a minute left, and no one could bring him down they they got their hands on him. And it's a second week in a row, when one of them has the guy wrapped up, but they escape on 3rd and 12220000333339 yards and convert.

    Linebackers - C+

Kuechly missed a big tackle, got a critical PI, Beason played very poorly, and even Davis took some bad angles and had to compensate with his speed. Overall, there were too many passes in shallow zone that were completed.

    Safeties - C

Seems like this may be a product of having Mikell, who's so fucking good in the box, but Godfrey is out there on a TON of cover 1, and as a result the corners are playing off too much, and it becomes pitch and catch. This is essentially a bend but don't break. Godfrey blew his achilles on a great pass break up, and Mikell is a great blitzer. Jones makes a great pic, but mostly because 59 wouldn't let Johnson run his route. That being said, too many completions, too many grinding drives that go on too long, and the second week in a row where there is total collapse late in the 4th.

    Corners - D-

PLay off. Don't jam. PLay scared, too soft, keep shit in front of them, and only Thomas can tackle. Heads up for the most part, but just aren't very talented. Don't challenge receivers for shit, and maybe that's a product of the scheme...but when they're playing the zones, they don't even chip or push, or disrupt. Not physical at all. Norman is lost. Moore sucks, and is small and can be shoved around. Munnerlyn is smart, but small and just gets out physical'd on every goddamn play it seems, so he plays way off as a result. Scared unit. They need help they're not getting, because Mitchell and Mikell blow shit as coverage guys. They're both blitzers and run stoppers who are lost in coverage.

    STs - B

Unless I'm forgetting anything, we've been pretty good there. Gano and the punter are kicking ass, and Ginn Jr. isn't sucking that bad.

We gotta cut that dumbfuck Smith though. He almost cost us big two weeks in a row. He's the steady dumb ************ out there, who makes me scratch my head as to why he's even still around.

    Coaching - F

Just some things that stick out.

    1. We got a rookie who just gave up a few turnovers who has to drive the length of the field in a minute with no time outs, and a secondary with most of the players in the back room or on the injury bench. Let's not play base prevent defense. Perhaps a blitz here or there to mask our glaring weaknesses would've been a decent idea, and if we had to play a deeper zone with the corners or a linebacker to make sure we don't get beat for a TD, then ok. Let's do that. But let's not sit back.

    2. They had no time outs. Why weren't we more aware of the sidelines? Where were the dog zones, and if we play back with no blitzing, let's protect the sidelines and let them pick apart the middle. Let's lay on a tackle, kick the ball away by accident, something. Shit like that??? Stagger back to your position, fake a bum ankle but not stop the clock kind of shit...limp back to place, burn a second here or there...I mean, 101? My God, good teams do this shit like...ALL THE TIME!???

    3. Big light bulb moment!? Let's burn a time out after 59 kills the INT. But first let's let them line up, check out their alignment, and then burn it. Ok, so that way we get to settle down and talk about it....and force them into the same play out of a different alignment, or just be ready for what they're giving us. And almost EVERY FUCKING TEAM RUNS A PICK PLAY ON THE GOALLINE....so can we be ready for that? Fucking please?

But....call a time out and let's talk about it. A rookie just went down the field on your asses. Re - motherfucking - group. He went out of bounds. The clock was stopped.

    4. We don't use the run to set up the PA. We seem to use the PA to set up the run...er...something.

    5. There seems to be no real rhyme or reason for the things we do on offense, and we aren't seeing much chess out there. We run it like a playstation game where we really enjoy a certain formation on third down and some shit, and even though their DE is murdering us, we don't really compensate. Slide a TE over to whichever side he's on, call for the RB to chip if he's going to run a swing or what the fuck ever, or...like I was bitching about earlier...RUN MORE SCREENS, DRAWS AND DELAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    6. When we got the ball, it was quite literally obvious, that we immediately set up for the FG. There was NO sense of urgency to go get a TD.

Ugh. Fuck it. I could go on, but I wont.
