Looking at getting my parents a GPS for Christmas. With my younger brother and I out of the house, they go all over NC and TN these days, especially the mountains. I am completely ignorant to the wonders of the GPS.

Looking to spend no more than $250, but realize that these appear that the quality is better with the higher price. Like to have a larger screen for them to easily read (leaning more to a 4.3 and up), want the turn-by-turn directions (can you turn them off?), prefer touch-screen, and want to make sure it is easy to update.

I'm leaning more to a portable as opposed to an in-car.

Does not need Bluetooth or mp3 capabilities.

    Thoughts, suggestions?
