It's coaching AND execution. Jason Baker freaking sucks. And our tackling has been very suspect on PRs at times. But he was told to use the rugby style punts in that situation.

There have been quite a few head scratchers from the coaching perspective. Wharton not reporting as an eligible receiver on an unbalanced line. The Illegal Procedure penalties. Hell, the number of penalties and undisciplined play in general. The timeout before halftime against NO.

Jason Baker was told to kick like he did by his Coach... he said last time they played Chicago, the strategy was to keep it away from Hester... this time, they were trying something different. It didn't work out.

I don't have a major problem with this. Had it not been called they were dangerously close to having too many men on the field, and since the half can't end with a penalty NO would have still gotten the chance to kick.

Yes. he was told to kick it rugby style. but his mistake was in kicking a rugby style kick without any hang time. essentially, he kicked a line drive to Hester giving him several steps before anyone had a chance to bring him down. Like i said, it was both coaching and execution.

So what? You take your chances in that situation. And it was coaching that had us in that situation to begin with. Why run the kick block team out there when you know they are going to be scrambling to get their PK team out there? Just leave your defense on the field and see if they can get the kick off in time.

Agreed, this is something or something like it that can happen potential twice every game and the end of the 1st half or end of the game. These are things that should be gone over every week in practice by the players and coaching staff.

Not unless they got off a legal snap. If they didn't, time would expire even if the whole team was on the field.

Yeah def. didn't like the timeout. 46 vs 41 yarder from Kasay. Not much of a difference.
