So far Rivera has been Mike Smith's bitch. That needs to change. I don't know what has been done to change it. We'll see.

 

Ron Rivera is an angry person, and on Thursday, he wanted everyone to know it.

After a couple of terrible team periods, coach rounded up the troops and poured out the rage that’s been trapped in his subconscious since early childhood. The 10 minute rant included Rivera comparing the team’s effort to the time his parents accidentally left him at a carnival in 1968.

“There were god damn clowns and shit. That’s what you guys reminded me of today, those fucking clowns. I HATE CLOWNS!”

The players were terrified.

“This guy is a fruitcake,” said linebacker Jordan Senn.

“I mean, I had concerns when he called a timeout so the opponent could kick a field goal, but I chalked that up to incompetence. Now, I think he’s just fucking insane. During team meetings, he keeps reminding us to ration our food in case of solar flares. I’ve never had a coach tell that to a team.”

Rivera chose not to comment on the incident.
