I'm probably the least excited about a season as I've ever been. It seems like interest around here is down in general.

Hopefully I will be plesantly surprised.

I'm digging college ball more this year.

I agree. The most boring preseason ever didn't help.

None of the new players got me all hot and bothered. Davidson's new offense scored less than Henning's in the preseason.

I'm kinda glad the hype is down. It's interesting how different 8-8 was last year than it was in '99.

NFL is so close, so many things can be determined by 1 play, one wierd penalty, one mistake. Anything can happen any year - and I think since our offseason was kinda boring, there hasn't been alot to talk about.

That said - I like it that nobody picks us for anything. From a juju standpoint, that's good.

I'm not really up for it either. I think my diminished interest in the season is one reason why I didn't bother picking up Madden and playing with the Panthers for the first time since '98.

My main foundation of hope is the hints about doing creative stuff to utilize Steve Smith. As Gantt says, we've seen virtually no revelation of that in the preseason. Here's hoping that they've been holding their cards close to the vest, and that Smith's comments about being glad now that they can game plan actually mean something.

if they were an exciting team to watch I would be more excited

6 years of going to games and screaming and yelling while old people sit there like they are at a church picnic sucks the energy out of you
