Shula said FUCK Cam Newton. Looks like coaches and players are starting the old cover your ass game already...oh boy. This, coupled with Ron's odd insistence that Cam isn't hurt really reeks of them trying to prep the fanbase for a future without him....

 

Cam Newton is an amazing athlete, but he's a below average QB. He is regularly missing high in his short to intermediate throws, which is indicative of throwing off of his back foot. This is either due to injury, or an unwillingness to step into his throws out of fear of getting knocked on his ass. Sure, his Offensive Line isn't very good, but I see QB's with poor OL's follow through on their throws all the time.

NFL GM's that draft African American QB's should read the history books. Only two have won SB's, and both of them were/are of much greater character and toughness than Cam Newton.

If Cam Newton is the future of your franchise, you better get used to a lot more losing in the future.

BTW, while listening KNBR 680 (they cover the 49ers here in NoCal) this morning Jim Harbaugh's name surfaced as a possible Head Coach in Carolina (Tim Kawakami). In the same report, Harbaugh's name was also mentioned as a replacement in Miami, Oakland, U of M, and the University of Kansas of all places.

 

Harbaugh also praises every one of his players, even if everyone knows he's full of shit. Like Alex Smith, before he got rid of him.

For our own OC to pretty much say that is just sad. This franchise is shot to shit. Just all shot to shit.

 

The difference of course being that Alex Smith is a better QB than Cam Newton.

 

Hmmm. What about quarterbacks who are left handed? What about QBs have green eyes? Statistics tell you anything if you cherry-pick well enough.

I'd say that not good QBs have the lowest odds of winning the super bowl regardless of race. I don't have numbers to back that up besides years of watching bad white QBs be equally unsuccessful as bad QBs of any other race at winning super bowls.

 

2 out of say 50 black QBs is damn better odds than 46 out of 5000.
