Goal judges moving?

Sounds like a good idea if they can get more seats and there and increase revenue. I'm not sure a live video is as accurate as a live eye, but it's worth a shot.

Goal judges behind nets soon may be a thing of the past in the NHL.

During next month's All-Star game at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, the judges will be stationed upstairs, high above ice level, during the Skills Competition, the Young Guns game, and the All-Star game.

In Edmonton, the judges recently were parked near the ceiling, perched directly over the net in the "catwalk." Every game these days has at least one camera, often more, aimed at the goal, making every goal immediately reviewable by league officials in Toronto, if necessary.

"We still want the red light going on," Mike Murphy, the league's senior vice president of hockey operations recently told the Edmonton Journal. "It's part of our history."

With the judges shooed to the press box, arenas should be able to add up to eight expensive lower-bowl seats per game.

yep...that's retarded. The goal judges gotta be pissed. Going from the best seat in the house, to the absolute worst seat in the house. The cat walks are WAY up there, and usually dusty and hot. Leave tradition alone.
