Here in this link, something stuck out to me. The little bit about Sunseri being happy with Peppers after every single drill, telling him: Beautiful, Peppers, beautiful!

Now: I wonder, is Sun kissing the bigman's ass? Is he not challenging Peppers, because he's the star? Is he not doing his job?

I don't know how to find this, but long ago, a few years back, when I wrote a little fan's scouting tidbit from training camp, I detailed how, ever time Peppers ran a drill, Sunseri would tell him: Gold, Peppers, you're gold! He would get on some of the other guys, at the time in particular, McClover. But never Peppers.

So when we read that little blip in the link this morning, I wouldn't get too excited about Peppers making his big resurgence to glory yet. This is simply what Sun does. He kisses the big guy's ass, rather than challenge him.

The guy's talented enough to stand out in drills, no surprise. I do wonder if Sun said anything after Pep waved at Garcia on his way to the EZ last year.

Peppers was sick last year. I'm betting he comes back with a career year.

Yep, there wasn't anything "beautiful" about last year's performance. Pep has some to prove to earn that next contract he's rumored to want.

Then again, maybe his confidence has taken a hit, and he needs to be pumped up a bit. :sadbanana:

Too late, if he sucks again then he has no trade value. If he is a star again his price goes through the roof.
