I'm looking at the Sportster 4, with the vehicle kit. What say you?

It won't make the sound suck any less - but the news programming is good.

    Meat...What?

Got to find out what they play. My car has built in XM...but I don't want it. I listen to FNZ and WBT during my 7 minute commute.

Sirius will lose SEC football in 2007...but it'll have NFL. XM has baseball.

I got sick of Stern when he was in Charlotte...

Fuck. CD's and AM radio are all I need.

I just got the S50 model. It's pretty sweet! The sound was awful using FM modulation, so I direct wired it to the car receiver. Now it's good.

I wish I knew how to do that. One of my biggest worries is getting good results in the Charlotte area.

What are you worried about - building obstruction? I know XM has ground repeater coverage throughout Charlotte. I'm sure Sirius does as well. It shouldn't be a problem.

Frequency saturation. Don't you need to have 3 unused frequencies in a row for it to work well?

I drive a Honda Element, so direct connecting was as simple as hooking a 1 foot 1/8" male-to-male stereo cable from the line-in jack on the S50 and the Aux jack in my dashboard. If you have any way of getting to the back of your stereo, check to see if it has a 1/8" jack for Aux input. If it does, head down to Radio Shack and get the appropriate length and run it to your Sirius receiver. It makes about a 5,236.14% improvement in sound.

Thanks guys. Don't know about the aux jack, since I don't have a way to switch over to it. This is good stuff.
