That's what I was thinking the cost would be. I've got about 1/3 acre but will probably only do the front yard. Thanks for the info.

It should be less. I'm spending about double that, which sucks, but they are clering a couple of dump trucks of shit, includig an old fence, buried clothesline posts from the 30's, several trees, regrading, killing all grass/weeds, and redoing the lawn.

It's not cheap. I had about 15 trees taken down and the whole yard/weeds killed off last summer. Everything was looking good until brown patch took over about three weeks ago. It's too hot to worry about it now.

Shop around and wait until the off season when they don't have as much work. I got a little under .5 acres done for about $3000 and I used a light commercial system which is better than a lot of the residential crap.

The systems and heads themselves don't cost much, it's the labor that adds up.

Also it looks like meat is having trenches dug which is fine if you are redoing your entire yard and sodding but many companies do trenchless work which does minimal damage to your yard and heals fast.

And again, I can't stress enough to spend a couple hundred extra for the rain sensor. You'll be glad you did.

No kidding. I took down 4 huge trees, all over 120', and it was expensive because they had to use climbers.

You should probably go ahead and do the back because the difference won't be that much. On a yard that size, the back yard is probably just one extra zone and you'll probably end up wishing you did it later on.

i'm thinking of removing all grass from my yard and installing gravel and rocks.

no trees, shitty grass, dirt that's more like clay...

Meat's one of the few that has good dirt, well, better than what I got anyway.

I got Charlotte Clay. Built/finished my house 6 years ago this month with full landscaping, but the new sod couldn't take to the clay and died out. Six years later, there are still patches of big clay area where you can still see all the sod lines laying as they were laid 6 years ago, over CLAY.

Note: I often say that if it weren't for the weeds I'd have no greenery in my yard at all. I sit on .27 acre. I've thought about this - SERIOUSLY
