I just started another round of tomatos but I have a longer growing season here.

There are fall and winter crops to choose from. Something I want to learn more about.

I'd love to learn everything I can but I know I'm running out of time too. We are fairly close to Virgina so this is a new area for me. I'll read more about it over the winter to get ready for spring. I want potted herbs on the deck as well.

Garden isn't doing crap this year. Gonna go the "flower garden" route next year I think. At least the kids will like it. Blah.

I'm planning both but a flower one will wait until spring. This is our back yard. It hasn't changed really since we moved in. There is so many places to put a garden, I'm not sure where to start. It's huge. I would like some fruit trees too. There is a blackberry bush in the far right side of the yard but that sucker is going this fall.

you have a portal in your backyard :52:

That is a huge space of yard. Why would you get rid of blackberries??

    A portal?

The blackberry bush is way out of control. It's massive and thorny and attracting snakes. I don't mind snakes but our kids play in the back yard a lot so I'd like to remove the snake home. Plus, I'm not a big fan of blackberries. I don't have a clue where to start planning to plant any garden.
