Favors got caught inside on that one TD run.

I don't expect him to be Fields, but I do expect him to maintain gap control and not make mental errors. What he did is just selfish play, and he got burned for it. Do your job, not Morgan's.

Delhomme has impressed me - he hasn't looked bad at any point, but maybe a little unsure in the first game etc, but he is obviously learning FAST unless last night was a fluke (and I'm betting it wasn't) I am excited about what this guy could do (if given the CHANCE). I know some have said he could be great, then others have said he's a perrineal backup, but I'm thinking the supporters may have been right at this point. First half stunk pretty much but I'm hoping since it was preseason game 4 (the biggest who cares of the whole season) compounded by the news about Sam (Minter in tears after the game among others) that we were playing to not have injuries and maybe a little mentally shell shocked. But our scrubs can kick A!

too bad it is not a scrubs league and scrubs are not going to cut it against better 1st teams.

I hope these pre-season victories mean that we have a young corp that is further along than their conterparts on the other teams. This could make a differance later in the season and next year.

I wish someone would dust off the old Capers vs Steelers film and learn from them. He understood that 3-4 defense that completely baffles this staff.

One thing tho, this years edition of the Panthers was a gamblers dream. I went 4-0 with them due to their backups and no inexperienced QBs. Yeah!

I would like to hear from some of you posters who have an opion on the subject about how you would play the 3-4. It seems to me that it is very hard to run aganst but alittle pourous vs the pass. I don't think this run first strategy is working.

I agree actually vs a 3-4 you have to have the pass 1st mentality... the only problem is you have to have a QB that is effective at reading the blitz and reacting... but I've noticed as far as Pittsburg goes they seem to leave themselves open for plays short over the middle if its me.. I constantly throw for 7=10 yard throws over the middle... then once they are set on that run slants to the outside like Young did last night when he scored also this should open the run more by allowing more Draw plays to be successful

It is tempting to think that Delhomme's time wiyh the Saints helped him last night. The Saints seems to play the Steelers tough as well as the Falcons. I know he probably didn't call his on plays, but while he was in, there surely was a change in our scheme.Sort of like that wild game in 99 when Steve B was able to play fake them and burn their ass by throwing to Jeffers deep. Last night even Peete looked decent when throwing. The only trouble was he is no deep threat so the Steelers could cheat up a little.
