    Jenx, Burton

    Moose

    Rasmussen for the ST spot

    >>I have a hard time with this one, considering he was responsible for 2 turnovers.

How's that one? He fumbled, yes, but is he responsible for where his quarterback throws?

I'm in agreeance with mags :D

I've been on Mooses back all season for not earning his big money, no one game wont make up for that but I'll give him his due today. The Skins seemed to be keying on Smith and Moose stepped up....he had a HUGE game imo.

The ENTIRE defense gets one for this game. They have been keeping us in games when the offense plays down to the competition....and thats just about every other game.

btw......Henning needs to tweak his red zone play calling imo, these field goals aint gonna strike fear in the hearts of our opponents. I know we're winning but I'd like to know our red zone efficiency (td to fg ratio) and overall league ranking in that category. It's our MAJOR weakness and could be our undoing in the post season.

And don't forget Moose did that against Smoot - who is no slouch - and better than any corner we have.

Agree, the red zone play calling does need to change somewhat. The decisiveness, mainly. We should be shining there more than anywhere, given our team makeup.

The ball was catchable, he got two hands on it. Oh yeah, almost forgot, $5.7 million :D

With a better starting corner(s) and a healthy Fields I can't help but dream about how dominant we would be.:D

Does anyone believe we will have a shot at affording Champ? What is Smoot's contract situation?

He got fingertips on it. He didn't throw the ball high. Jake, however, did.

Yeah, I almost forgot. A player who makes more is expected to not make as many mistakes?
Muhammad's salary is $3.9 mil. Certainly, too high, but given what he was worth when he was signed and when we were using him right, $3.9 million for a league leader wouldn't have been terrible. Pretty damn good, actually, considering he's at the end of said contract, when as we all know the salaries escalate above the contract average.

None of this has shit to do with anything; a player doesn't have it decided to whether he's at fault or not based on payscale, that's assinine and we both know it.

Champ'll likely be franchised. Doesn't mean he can't be had, and for a single #1 it might be worth it, if those things ever actually have a chance of being worth value. Either way, money will equalize that and we won't get him. But behind him, you might see Woodson or McAllister in here. I like Winfield, but while Buffalo's pass D is stellar (without picks or sacks aiding it) I'd also agree with WP that he doesn't have a lot of plays on the ball and you expect for $4+ mil a year you want someone who will make a play on the ball.

Smoot's on his rook contract. Supposedly, the Redskins offered him to us, for trade, and we didn't take. Supposedly, that makes him a lot harder to receive in trade now, and to be honest I'd not want to put trade into a baggage player.

5.7 includes the prorated portion of his signing bonus. And if Hurney & Co. agreed to keep him on at that salary, that obviously meant they thought he was worth it or they would have cut him. Point being, he got 2 hands (watch the replay) on the ball, the defender was a good 3 yards off him, he has the ability to make that grab. We have all seen him make catches like that or better, hell the team is paying him to make catches like that. And not only does he brick-hand the catch, he tips it backward. If he tips it forward, he gives himself another shot at it and keeps it away from the defender. But this guy that Hurney and Co. considered a 5.7 million dollar guy evidently doesn't have the skills that other receivers in the league who make a tenth as much have the ability to make on a routine basis.
