Remember that unless the player is going out of bounds or is in the end zone, he doesnt have possession just by having the ball for a tenth of a second. He has to keep it until he's tackled, runs a couple of steps, or something. This is how possession was interpreted for years. Then they got away from it, and had a bunch of cheap fumbles. Now they're back to this common sense approach. I havent seen this written anywhere, but the calls have been consistent about it for the last 5 years or so.

Their player had it for an instant, but not enough to establish possession. Then he dropped it. Great play by Mangum.

    My game balls:

Manning Jr. -- He covered Harrison tighter than anyone else on our roster, and did a better job. Yeah, he got turned around a couple of times -- name me one corner in the league that Marvin Harrison hasn't done that to. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Ricky at #2 on the depth chart this week, and deservedly so.

Foster -- What a wonderful surprise he was on Sunday. I'm truly awestruck -- he's almost a year ahead of where I thought he'd be in his recovery. He's going to be outright scary next year. I just hope Fox doesn't play with his new toy too much too soon and break him again. :(

Kasay -- Another clutch kick. The man has nerves of steel. Still glad we kept him over Graham.

    Honorable mentions:

    Steve Smith
-- Good or bad, he's our #1 wideout. Not because of injury or team politics, but because he's earned it. JD almost always looks his way first.

Dan Morgan -- His run-stopping up the middle was crucial on more than one 3rd down. Still can't believe he didn't re-injure that hammy on Indy's old style turf.
