“what would a future game have to do with past performance?”

The saints O is not going to have a sorry ass game like Warner and Co just did. If peppers and Co don’t bring the A game again it gets ugly fast. Any of their other defensive efforts of the past will get them buried

You know what my biggest issue with peppers is . .. How good he COULD be and my own expectations of what he could have been here gets the best of me. The likelihood is that after this season he will be a cowboy or patriot or something other than a panther. Then some other teams forum will have people arguing over how overpaid he is and how he does vanishing acts . .. That will be fine with me, especially since we already have four other “good” DEs

you still have a Keary Colbert avatar.

Probably not, but that has nothing to do with past performance.

I don't know what your issue is with our ends. That's clearly one of the few places we've been acknowledged to be deep and talented. We have two starters, a guy riding the bench with 3 sacks, and a guy drafted in the first day that could've gone top 15. Man, that blows to have that stuff.

But, fair enough. You don't like our other ends and you expect well over 25 sacks per game.

Winning or losing the Saints game is going to be more on the shoulders of our offense than defense. The Saints are going to score. If our offense can sustain drives and give us at least 20 points, we have a shot. If the Saints can beat us with two TDs, then we're in trouble.

yes, I'm aware of my awesome avatar

hung up on the past performance thing?

no, I don't share your rosy opinion of what are currently a couple of situational guys/reserves, a one dimensional rook, and a guy who has shown some improvement but still would not be starting for most teams.

hmmm? right . .. well over 25 a game :goofy:

He's on pace for 16 sacks and you're unhappy, so clearly one sack a game isn't good enough. So you set some "realistic" goals.

my main thing .. . which I thought was stated clearly enough . .. is that peppy is waaaaaaaaaaaay overpaid and pulling in way too much each game to NOT be playing as well as he did vs zona.
I sorta implied that he's due to disappear again this coming sunday when the going gets really tough. I think he will (at least enough to not be a significant factor) and therefore will not be worthy of his next massive check. You don't share that opinion . .. fine
Should anyone here, or either of us care enough about the above to continue whacking this?

I would really prefer sleeping because I'm bored with restating my opinion for you

it would be easier to restate it if the criteria for what you were arguing were to stay on the same thing each time

Oh Trebek! You wouldn't be so full of yourself if you weren't holding the lil' answer cards . . .. or would you?

I don't stay in the same category each time. That's not how I roll Alex :N1oldschool:
