I have to give Davidson and the whole offense a game ball, we didn't score 27 all last year until the last game vs the Saints' second and third teamers.

edit: on the Jake to Smitty TD, the ball was perfectly thrown.

I didn't notice Peppers or Rucker, and the others didn't really get pressure on Bulger until Pace went out. I'm a bit concerned about the lack of a pass rush considering that we didn't have one this preseason either.

Once Pace went out, I noticed Ruck and Otis a bit more. Jenks and Moorehead had some pressures. We got some hits on him.

Run D was better past the first quarter.

And we fumbled at the 2 and missed a 47 yarder - we scored 27 and left a bunch on the board.

Our pressure was better later in the game. We started getting some good licks on Bulger. Overall, I think the idea was to play umbrella and get pressure up front. I could probably count the number of blitzes on one hand.

Most of those didn't work. One did where we blitzed Davis and Otis got a hit. But we came with some overloads and burned us twice that I can remember.

Yeah, I don't want more blitzing, but it would be nice if the front four had gotten any pressure at all before Pace went down.

How the ref missed that one I have no idea. He was literally 5 feet away staring down Colbert and the DB. Looks like Keary could have ripped off a pretty decent gain.
