Both Henning's offense & Keyshaun was old & tired. This team has new life and a new attitude on offense...

And kudo's to Fox...not only has he made a difference from when he first got here, to make us proud of the product he put on the field, but he's adaptable enough to know when change is needed.

I still anticipate growing pains with a brand new OC, but such as life. It won't be near as painful as the slow death Henning was bringing to this franchise.

I don't see many games, so I try to get a feel for how we played from comments here. I can't get a sense of whether we played well or they played poorly. Over on the Rams' board it's clear what they think. They think the Rams just stunk up the place...playcalling, gameplan, matchups...basically the coaches are a bunch of idiots. In fact, they're so mad they're criticizing the stadium, which I didn't quite understand.

I understand the natural inclination to believe that things are better and that the guy who's gone was crap. It's human nature. I wouldn't even mind it as much if the justification wasn't the opposite of the truth.
This is what I mean about you looking for a fight. When you lie about what I've said, you're obviously looking to jerk my chain. I never told anyone that they couldn't talk bad about Henning. I have no problems with anyone talking bad about anyone else as long as the criticism is justified. The thing that irritated me is that people could be so blind that they'd crow about how different the offense was when it looked almost exactly like it did last year against St. Louis. On that, I do expect Davidson to start doing some new things as the season goes along and the players get used to him, but what bugged me is that people are talking about something that wasn't there, at least not yet.

Just to get a win, I'm happy. New plays and schemes are going to take some time to feel comfortable so if we get a win along the way, excellent. I haven't re-watched the game yet except our first drive and the OL doesn't have it straight yet. Wharton I noticed in particular missing/confusing assignments a couple of times. One was the Jake scramble; Travelle turned inside and left Jake with the DE in his face on what was going to be a WR screen to Smitty.

I said it last year, the new coach(es) will get probably more credit than deserved simply having a healthy OL. So I feel bad for Dan, but hey, he's a grown man and life ain't always fair.

It was mostly Maser I had it in for. Biggest thing that puts me in favor of DH being replaced is that a lot of the players seemed to favor it.

I think that was intentional. Jake faked the toss to the right and the DE was probably expected to crash down, leaving Delhomme to turn back and complete the WR screen to the left.

Also lost in the conversation is that Kalil played pretty well. Glover punked him once with the shoulderpad pull, but overall he did his job, which was pretty impressive considering that he'd never played guard before this season.

And that he faced LaRoi Glover. Big test for a rookie who'd never played guard.

I heard the commentator remark that the "shoulderpad pull" was Glover's trademark move, one that has gotten him to the pro bowl many times.

Isn't grabbing and pulling defensive holding? Just curious. I know it's rarely called on D-linemen but I seem to remember Buckner getting called for it in the past.

Hopefully he'll have another good game next week. Would be nice to keep some continuity on the line. We could keep Bridges as the top backup.

Not sure that we will ever be radically different. We may add some plays, some different route combos, do some more intermediate stuff. But we will try to run the ball. We will try to get Smitty the ball. We'll do the smokes, and end arounds, and take shots deep.

That was fun, Stephen Jackson, the next big dick. Im gonna run for 2000+ yards this year.

    Game 1 - 58 yards, 2 fumbles.

I like seeing Morgan back at MLB. Beason looking good too, did he get the start at WLB?

I don't think people have said he's crap. Maybe he was, or wasn't, but I haven't seen people saying that. I've seen them say that things look better, and compared to average last year, that was a lot better. Whether it was better because of the Rams or not, that's another thing, but it seems like any comparison to last year is irritating, and I don't get it.

Nope. You're being defensive about Henning, at least from my view, and you'd get anyone for doing that here. I don't think there's that much support for that view right now either way, and I'm guessing most people are just happy the offense showed up this week. I don't think anybody's out to bash Henning and I've yet to see that happen.
