    whatever he is/was, I don't give a shit...I don't know that I would believe a word he said anyway

I don't think he got lowballed...and I don't think he's worth what he agent was holding out for

I think Fox should ask the league to investigate the Bears for tampering, I think Moose's agent knew the deal the Bears had on the table

Yeah I know. If you can't hate him for being Muslim when he isn't, well, fuck him for whatever else, right? Hey let's go invent something to hate him for. That sounds fun!

Don't put words in my mouth, partna.

I never accused Moose of anything other than being a team player. So I won't touch that one.

Thing is, Smitty is very different than Moose. For one, he talks a lot of trash, trash that he backs up. Second, is about five inches shorter and a second quicker. Not as good a blocker, but much better hands. When was the last time you saw Steve Smith dropping a catchable ball. The answer is never.
Smith is a punk-ass. I already said that. And it was not meant sacrastically. But, he is who he is. And he's at his best that way. So until he ends up in jail, I'm gonna enjoy his play on the field and not feel like it's some sort of guilty pleasure to do so.

you mean like we "got better" last year spending our spare cash on overpaid special teamers, so-so backups, outright scrubs and washouts?

I think we did the right thing in letting Moose leave. I would not have wanted to pay him what he got from the Bears. I figured that 10 million number was going to be the deal breaker. He was due that if he stayed here and was not going to take less than that after the year he just had. He got 12 from the bears.

I think it was the right thing for Moose too. He has to cash in. At his age he will never have this chance again so he is smart to get the money while he can.

I think the Bears are the loser in this deal because there is no way Moose will be worth what they are paying him. I am hopeful that he will end up coming back here in a couple of years like Trotter and Douglas did for the Eagles. He definately needs to retire as a panther.

It's about cost slotting your players.

    #1 WR gets paid handsomely
#2 WR gets paid 2-3 million

This was as much about Moose wanting to be the number one guy and getting paid as much.

I wonder if we could have signed him easier and cheaper after the SBowl? I wonder why we didn't renegotiate then? He would have had a hell of a lot less in leverage but then we had to lock down Jake.

Could of, would of, should of

Given the class with which both Muhammad and Hurney have handled the situation, it could happen down the line.

I think you're way misconstruing what I'm saying. I'm bitching at y2, not you. So put it back in and zip up. I have nothing against Smith.

And in 03, Smitty did have more drops, and more fumbles. He comes up with some fine catches, but he doesn't have impeccable hands. iwon.com doesn't have their 2003 stats up, and that's the only place I know that lists drops, but searching these forums and I noticed I'd put Smith down for 9 and Moose for 5 or 6. Smitty will drop a ball. Drop = catchable.
