    FA pickup:
    Former Chicago Bear LB Mike Caldwell was signed today to a 3 year deal. 6'2" 235lbs played for Chicago last year, Philadelphia 1998-2001, Arizona 1997, Baltimore 1996 and Cleveland 1993-1995.

    Beginning to wonder about it myself. But there's lots of talk about it on Panther.com MB. And it's on the ESPN2 crawl line on TV.

    Can any tall why what do Practice Squad meen if a team sign you to there Practice Squad do they have to pay

    any team can sign anyone off someones practice squad to a contract for the season and added to 53 man roster

    We get 5 guys for a practice squad. We have to pay them a weekly check, I think $1500. Like Bino said, any team can sign any of our practice squad guys to their active roster.

    Reggie Howard was a practice squad guy. I think Baker was as well. Hankton, too. I'm glad we got Brown and Choo choo.

    That's odd - to keep a 10th DL on the ps. But Brown was deserving. Ciurciu makes sense, we'll probably need him at some point.
    Louis makes sense - though I'd figured they'd want an OT since Nelson plays C and G, and we're carrying four guards besides him, but only three tackles. They like to keep ten OL amonst regular squad and PS.

    Caldwell doesn't suck. Nice pickup. I feel better now.

    More like about $4000 a week, I think. Its about half of rookie minimum for the active squad.
