    My criteria for a multi year extension was have a good '14.

    But looking at all that is going on elsewhere while we go backwards, I will have a tough time blaming the coach for a lackluster record.

    They freed up some already and can free more by signing Graham long-term since that would be much less than his tagged cap hold.

    Positive:
    No one, not even Talib, is getting over $10 million a year which is encouraging for Hardy negotiations. I assumed the deals this off-season would be nuts given how much the salary cap increased and how much it is projected to increase again.

    Negative:
    The free agent offensive tackles are going quickly and the Panthers haven't even been mentioned as involved in discussions which suggests that Gettleman really does intend for Byron Bell to be the new left tackle.

    Off season's not over, but this is getting scary. And depressing.

    We're literally spinning our wheels in the mud driving frantically backwards, while our rivals (mostly Tampa) add very good pieces.

    I mean, they've helped their DL and backfield tremendously already. Jesus...

    And ya know what's cool? We have no wide receivers to go out and play against them, and pretty soon, our toughest son of a bitch will be gone because our new GM is showin' em who's in charge!
