I kind of hoped it would be to bring in new talent rather than to just re-sign a roster that went 2-14.

There is really no telling where we lie in terms of how much we have left to spend for 2011, correct? The cap hit for each of these contracts (front loaded, back loaded, etc.) aren't disclosed?

That's a very popular thing to say lately, and not without validity but also a lot of these guys were on a 12-4 team a couple of years ago.

Depending on how TD recovered, he could be a talented add.

Otah, if healthy will make a difference.

    We revamped TE.

Which ties in with changing the philosophy, new OC.

Not to mention addition by subtraction Jeff Davidson.

New blood in the HC position, replacing disgusted not giving a shit HC.

The immediate issue is going to be QB play, and it may not be much better than we saw (edit: but then it might be much better by midseason. And noted, much better could still be a long way from good).

A mid term issue will be how the money we spent impacts our ability to be active again next year. The rookie cap with the raised salary floor is going to change things in a way I'm not sure we understand yet.

I would not have paid DW but I understand feeling like we have to have the weapons to insulate a rookie QB.

I don't expect .500 this year, but we made some progress IMO. IOW, I am not expecting games to be over by halftime.

I certainly want to see the beef on OL and DL paid attention to, but never expected this to be a one year fix.

Ray Edwards signs with the Falcons. Terms are sickening when you look at what we paid.

5 years $30 million with $11 million guaranteed
    Awesome

they did get a good deal, apparently hanging a sub-market deal out there with the idea of "being with a winner". honestly didn't expect anyone to fall for it.

Johnson is the better player and a year younger, but in terms of value Falcons win this round.

Roman Harper re-signs with the Saints for 4 years and $29 million. That's a lot for that guy. I really don't think he's that good.
