Some of the guys on that list have been mentioned here as pickups we'd like to see, ie, Canty, Dorsey, Miller, Jenkins, Knighton, Pollard, Watson, Wilson. Even Pat Sims got a shoutout from somebody. But all those guys got paid more than we could afford. It sucks, but its our reality without Gross or Beason taking a paycut. And I hate to keep bringing Gross up because I think he has already restructed once or twice to help the team. His cap number has finally caught up to him.

But I also dont think your giving Drayton enough credit. He played well in Buffalo prior to his injured season in Detroit, he is also 3 years younger than Bell. I think most would have taken Cason here but keep in mind that 1.5 mill probably means Munnerlyn doesnt return either. Notice he resigned for only slighly more than Flo. Had we signed Cason for 1.5, he'd have wanted more.

I dont think the Bucs signed the Zack Miller your thinking of, at least I hope not. That Zach is still in Seattle. Phillips I honestly didnt know, doesnt seem he has done much. Crabtree showed a little last year in GB but not much over 3 years.

I agree Cole is a gamble with him being out of football awhile. But keep in mind DT is likely to be addressed early in the draft. And we did resign Dwan.

We signed Ginn for half the cost of Washington.

Also keep in mind alot of the good vets want to play for a winner in their twilight. Wilson wanted to play for the 9ers out west, settles for the Pats in the east.

I dont think Woodson, Aso or Freeney will want to finish up here, even if we wanted them.

 

Spend smart. A lot of the aforementioned players are old name players. Keep deals short and clean out shitty Hurney deals

I have no dog in this particular fight. Frankly, I enjoy reading all sides and views, because I've been so depressed about the Panthers lately, I don't really check out the news and I'm not at all caught up about current events in football. So reading here for now, suffices.
