Spent some time this eve witn TiVo controller and NFL Network replay. From a mechanics standpoint he opens up his shoulders and hips too soon. He'll make throws with his body square to the LOS and toes pointed downfield, and the incredible thing is despite losing all that leverage he still gets remarkable zip on the ball.

On that long pass to Smitty on the busted coverage he was drifting to his left, facing downfield. Body square to line, toes pointed to end zone, and still threw it from our 38 to the Bears 5.

His best throw of the game was with 11 min to go in q2. He kept his feet under him, rotated into the throw, and drilled a laser to Smitty streaking down the sideline in the hole between the CB and S. Line drive from our 28 to Bears 40, middle of the field to the sideline.

....by the way, I fear Wharton's best days are behind him.

 

I credit Cam Newton for me being able to sell my ticket for this weekend's game at face value today.

 

His velocity is something. The sirius guys are oozing semen about it.

I recall being pretty amazed at fanfest when he threw that long ball to barnidge.

 

This is by far his greatest acomplishment to date.
