Has anyone had any experience dealing with them on warranty issues? Or does anyone just have suggestions on dealing with a company that absolutely refuses to honor their contract/warranty even though the product in question is still ~16 years from being out of warranty?

This is regarding a broken window pane in my parents' sunroom. Per the contract, the glass is fully warranted against breakage for 20 years. For more than a month now, they have gotten nothing but a complete runaround.

Sounds like a job for Channel 9...or Good Housekeeping.

Is there something in the contract about what causes the breakage? I mean, if you throw a hammer through the window I doubt they would cover it. If it is a material/installation defect, then they should cover it.

They make a huge deal about their glass being so wonderful and strong. And the contract doesn't mention any specifics on what causes the breakage, just that breakage is fully covered for 20 years.

I had a feeling from the start that a call to Channel 9 may eventually be in order.

Then why the runaround? What is their reason for failing to fix the problem?

Good question. My opinion has become that it's because they are a highly disreputable company. It could be that this particular franchise (located in Raleigh) is an exception to the rule, but I've Googled and found several less-than-glowing stories about other franchises as well.
