    Panthers release RB Foster
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) _ The Carolina Panthers have released DeShaun Foster, their starting running back from last season.
The move was made Thursday and clears about $4.75 million in salary-cap space. And it continues a busy offseason as the Panthers overhaul their roster following a second straight season out of the playoffs.
Foster has never rushed for more than 897 yards in six seasons plagued by fumbles and injuries.
During the last two seasons, Foster split time with former first-round pick DeAngelo Williams. Williams is expected to enter next season as the team's top back.

Good move, I am glad we will not be stuck with him for another season. We need a better back as our starter. DW might be the guy or he may not but Foster clearly was not feature back material.

    Who'll pick him up??

It'll be interesting to see who, if anyone, shows him interest.

    It was time.

I wish Foster well. While he never quite lived up to the Panthers' hopes, he did have his moments, and earned a few clips in the all-time team highlight reel.
