this is a very tough week for me.

My hometown Bears are playing the team I have covered, and cheered for since they were born.

Professionally, a Panther win is better for me (improving post-season chances, travel, etc). Personally, the Bears (or as I call them the "Valedictorians of Summer School"), are leading the NFC North and wins could help them down the road.

This is the one game on the schedule I dreaded the most, not for match-up sake.

    :agreed:

I feel your pain, although not to the same extent, I'm sure. I've told you that I grew up a bears fan, but that first exhibition game at Ericsson changed it all for me. I still have a LOT of respect for the Bears orginization, and I still like Moose. They're easily my second favorite team in the league.

For me it was the 1996 NFC Championship Game. I grew up in Waukesha, Wisconsin and a Packer fan. I have been in Raleigh, NC since 1985 and bought my PSL's beginning in the 1995 Clemson season. I enjoyed that year because I am also a Clemson grad. I was unable to enjoy the excitment surrounding a 2nd year expansion team playing in a Conference Championship. I watched the game, but with little excitement. For me though the ending was awesome. About 1/2 hour after the game my father calls me and asks me if I want to go to the Super Bowl. We traveled together and watched Favre, Reggie White and the rest of the team bring the Title back to TitleTown. That Super Bowl experience allowed me to feel ok with moving the Panther's to #1 on my list. I later traveled to the GB game in which Buerlein scored on the QB sneak and proudly wore my Panther garb. I still love the Packers, but the Panther's are #1 for me and will always be #1. It's now a franchise playing its 11th season and I can proudly say I have been there since the beginning. As a football fan to be a part of a team since it became a team is awesome. Just thought I'd share my story. You should be proud of what the Bear's have accomplished thus far this season!

Hey Mike, we can make it easy for ya. Either root for the freaking Panthers and be done with it or you can take the next graveyard shift weatherman job at WQAD in Moline...

DaBears and moreso Walter Peyton got me addicted to football, so they'll always have a place in my heart. But it's going to be all Panthers for me come Sunday! But when I see highlights I still holler MOOOOOOOOOSE, but the picture of me with him from practice the last week of last year WILL be covered Sunday! Sorry Moose.
