Is this a sign they're looking to restructure somebody like Gamble.

Seems like we should be cutting guys first before we look to restructures.

Or is just more of a ducks in a row situation.

Fix what you can, as you can.. hoping this is a sign Gettleman is weighing all the options.. and making every effort to fix it without completely having to crush it...

Gettleman has no ties to these guys. He needs to trim contracts that they can replace with younger talented cheaper players

I said a while ago that it looked like they were going to try to restructure / extend Gross & Gamble to "keep the band together" and make a legitimate run at the playoffs in 2013. I hope it works because that's going to set the franchise back even further in terms of the cap. And if they can't work something out with Gamble, I'm guessing they want to trade him instead of releasing him. He should be able to fetch a middle or late round pick.

By that time the average salary for centers could be 10 million

Unlikely. The cap hasn't increased in a while, and the top salaries at most positions are actually going down slightly.

Aren't they expecting a big cap bump when the new TV deals take effect?

I guess Goodells contract is based upon that new tv deal to be. I read his salary is 3.2 million but "bonus's" pushed it up to almost 30 million. I wonder what he did to warrant those bonus's?
