    Who would trade for a player who's under a franchise tag salary who'd be a FA in a year? What am I missing?

    Usually they negotiate a deal to sign with the new team as soon as they get there.

    Cassell? Wouldn't that off set the loss of 2 1st round picks?

    having said that, even if it is an option, I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable with Cassell. I've not seen him play enough to say.

    Cassell isn't going to put up those numbers in Carolina, he wouldn't have the weapons he does in NE.

    I know I'm getting way ahead of myself here, but if we did trade Pep for Cassell and trades 1st round picks then we'd have a first rounder this year.
