Felony charges against Iverson dropped.

I predicted this, as well.

At first, I was all upset at Iverson. But, I think this incident was blown way out of proportion and overhyped by the media. Now I'm not saying Iverson did no wrong, I'm just saying this was not as serious as the allegations in the Jayson Williams murder case, which didn't receive anywhere near the media attention and public outrage that Iverson's got.

they were hoping for a payoff, i am sure it pisses them off having not gotten any (hehehe)

Exactly.

I started getting suspicious after I read the transcript of the 911 call. And, who waits hours later before calling 911 if there was a severe threat? This guy, the victim, just isn't credible to me.

I think Iverson, finally realizing what a jerk he was for throwing his poor wife out, came to his senses and was desperately trying to find her. The fact that he was carrying a weapon should come as no surprise to anyone. If I were looking for someone in the dangerous streets of Philadelphia, I'd want some protection. Allen Iverson is really not a big guy, which is probably why he had his uncle with him as backup. I think when he arrived at the apartment there was a heated exchange, with the usual silly "saber rattling" a lot of guys do mouthing off, but nothing more.

Did you see the mugshot of the two? His uncle is only 5'3 and 145 pounds. That's not a good source of backup if he's trying to battle someone....lol

No, I didn't see the uncle's mug, but don't underestimate small guys.;) My ex is from NYC and not very tall, but he was tough as Baretta and he carried a gun with him. I was just trying to say that people in this situation often arm themselves. Just like when there was all the uproar over Muhsin Muhammad's traffic stop last season when he told the officer he was carrying a gun. Why did that surprise anyone? With carjackings in Charlotte and the fact that he was a well-known athlete driving a luxury car late at night, heck, I'd probably be carrying some protection, too.

Now there is a big surprise. Another guilty thug athlete walking away scot free.
