I was watching NFL Total Access and they were showing clips from the NFL coaches symposium. Stupid fat boy Charlie Weis (New England's Offensive Coordinator) asked John Fox a question. He questioned Steve Smith and Muhammad talking on the sideline during the superbowl, where Steve acted like he was interviewing Moose. Weis asked isn't that considered showboating and asked Fox what he thought about it.

What a jackass! That wasn't that bad. It just sort of ticked me off.

Charlie might be a little bitter that Fox got what he felt should have been his job. Weis did interview for the job if I remember correctly.

Those guys are supposedly very close friends, their wives too. Might have been tweaking him a little. I think Fox offered him the OC gig before offering it to Henning. What did Fox say?

Fox said Steve is a young player. Young players make mistakes and they are still working with him. He sounded like he didn't like what Steve and Moose were doing on the sideline.

I think in the context of those "questions" were to show an example of media questions and how to answer them when put on the spot. I thought is was a stupid question, but it followed another similar question from Jack D. about "what if TO was your player, and did...what would you do about it?"

    That was my take anyway.

There's also a BIG difference between a little sideline 'showboating' where only NFL films gets a shot, than obvious "look at me" showboating for all the world to see real-time on the field. All kinds of shite goes on on the sideline with all kinds of things said. The coach has no idea about these types of things compared to something like the cell phone incident with Joe Horn.

Weis might be leaving NE if they don't give him a raise.

Yeah, he's a likely target for a HC job but not until 2005. I hope NE gets raided badly at some point. :evil3:

Good take. And yes there is that diff. But one of the things about showboating is that it distracts you. They should be focused on winning, and play interview after the game.
