Got the aerator guy coming September 26th. Then I seed and fertilize. May lime the yard this year as well.

You should aerate and overseed anytime between now and mid september. Seeding late september into october doesn't give the grass as much of the optimum growing temps to get strong for the coming season.

The nights are cool enough now for fescue to germinate an thrive. With a healthy lawn, you should really need to aerate every other year.

    Irrigation, moving dirt, and seeding

Need some feedback...any landscapers out there?

I have a quote and not sure how bad I am getting jobbed...

Have a quote, going to get this done in the next week or so.

    Specs...500 ft wire, 8 rainbird 6" spray heads, 1800' 1" pr 200 irrigation pipe,
(I think it is 8 or 9 zones total) 25 lbs bermuda season, 150 lbs turf type fescue, 150 lbs starter fertilizer, 30 wheat straw, Grading out 10 loads of dirt (I provide) and power raking

    approx $7000

Anybody out there know if that is ok? or can do better?

Job is down in Monroe, NC.

Other than we haven't any appreciable rain in 2 months I agree, Hell throwing out seed now is just feeding passing birds

    Pretty tough to say.

I got 3 quotes they were very close to eachother. Mine was between 8-10 zones, and I have alot of small areas, alot of digging under and replacing brick patio / sidewalks. I was told by all of them that a wide open 2 acre yard would've been cheaper.

So really - however much labor it takes to do the job depends somewhat on your yard.

And you'll not really know if you're being jobbed until you get other quotes.

Irrigate. If you count on rain to germinate any time you are wasting seed.

Why is the word "hell" in that sentence.
