So when this goes thru what do you want the Panthers to do with it?

Keep it and have back to back 3rd round picks?
Use it to move up in round 1?
Use it to try and get an extra second?

The Panthers have until Tuesday to match the offer on Manning. If they don't match the pick is the Panthers'.

7 days from the day it was signed OR 4 days before the draft. Whichever comes first.

Essentially the Bears were trying to set the Panthers up to only have a few days to decide to match. In theroy its a smart move... this time it blew up in their faces.

Trade a third and the second to move up to high second.
Maybe another pick in the 30's?

Did the Bears actually think they were being sneaky? It would seem pretty obvious that the Panthers didn't have any interest in matching. Stupid Bears.

FWIW, both of 27+88+89=Minnesota's pick at 17. Don't think that this is smart but I could see Minnesota agreeing.

Nice idea in theory, but there's no way in hell that happens, at least with Minnesota. They already have two seconds and two thirds, so if anything they'd be looking to move up.

    # 20 might net D'angelo Williams over the Pats.
