    At the end of preseason, most starters don't even play. Way to go out on a limb.

    I meant he will be our starter for the regular season but that he may not win the spot until the end of preseason.

    I don't know, he's a hell of a lot better talent wise than Tutan Reyes. If he gets the system learned fast, he'll easily pass Reyes.

    This is what I'm thinking, too. I think Thelt may be right -- if the competition is truly open, Mathis has a better than average chance at beating out Reyes by 9/4.
