After decrypting it I put a blank in and open Shrink. When I click on open file and then on the movie folder or the movie VOB I get the error message prior to the encoding process of shrink. I had to run home this morning after posting this message so I started a defrag on my D: drive (larger of my two HDs 160 verses 120) I will run the chkdisk here in a few and then try again with Shrink and see what happens. Should I reload Shrink and see if something in it went bonkers if the Shrink doesn't work post defrag and chkdisk? Otherwise I am thinking that something was hosed about the original movie as it had to insert some dummy sectors into the movie file that "were missing per decryptor" Maybe it's something the movie folks are doing to keep folks from backing it up?

I ripped that same movie fine.

When you open it with Shrink at first, it does a light analysis, so it reads most of the files immediately. That will show a bad sector. Seems strange to get the same problem repeatedly, but you're likely overwriting the same spot every time. A chkdsk /f is mandatory before the defrag...

I never see a light analysis just the pop up window show at the top. I will chkdisk first tonight and then defrag and then shrink again. For the record I did decrypt/shrink/burn 2 movies last night (2 for the money and Shall we dance)

Y'all didn't realize who you were helping before?

Here is the start of the movie when I first decrypt Dark Water. This makes the third different copy of the movie I am trying to rip and copy. If this doesn't work I guess I;ll nver get it. I defragged and then check disked prior to decrypting

I thought you said you had an NEC 3550. It looks like its being recognized as a 3520. You think upgrading your NEC drivers would help?
