Dunleavy to NBA, according to this article

He's gone! He'll be a top 3 easily. Top 5 worse case. The fact that he hasn't hired an agent means little when you consider his dad is an NBA insider. I doubt Dunleavy will ever need an agent when it comes to NBA contract talks. Good for MD though. He's an outstanding player and will be a very good pro. What does this do for Duke next year though? Any thoughts? I still think they finish top 3 in conference because of K and a solid backcourt.

Son of a bitch!

oh well. I'm not worried. Just think, one junior starter and the rest frosh and sophs.

Dunleavy set to turn pro

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ESPN.com news services

The recent tradition of Duke players leaving early for the NBA is most likely continuing.

Duke junior forward Mike Dunleavy Jr. will declare for the 2002 NBA Draft, ESPN has learned. Dunleavy will not hire an agent, however, leaving open the possibility that he could return for his senior season.

Dunleavy will make the announcement at a Saturday news conference.

Word out of Duke for some time has been that Dunleavy would not declare for the draft. However, NBA scouts have expected he will declare and should be a top 10 pick, according to ESPN.com sources.

Dunleavy's father has been making inquiries with NBA teams about his son's prospects for the upcoming draft. If it is determined that he would be a high lottery pick the younger Dunleavy would likely come out. If it is determined he would be selected at the middle to low end of the lottery, then Dunleavy would probably withdraw and return to Duke.

sounds alot like the Tar Heels. The rivalry may actually be on again.

Ugh. I was looking at Dunleavy to be the next Battier... The thoughts of Dahntay Jones, Duhon and Ewing are good - adding Horvath and potentially Sanders, well, hmmm...

I like the kids coming in - looks like they'll be expected to play even more minutes. Hope Shav finds the fridge over the Summer/Fall.

Methinks Wossa is right (for once) - the rivalry could be back. Guess the conference as whole might be slightly down - not sure how many players were lost from the lesser (read: outside the ACC) conferences.

Props to Blue - you did predict Dunleavy leaving. I wouldn't have believed it - but agree that he's ready.
