    Here's his writeup:
Huge size for a C (listed at 6'5", 320), but doesn't play that big. Probably isn't that big. Moves well for a big man, and probably makes the players around him look better than they are. Fresno State's respectable running game the past 2 or 3 seasons is mainly between the tackles, and Young is a big part of that. The funny thing, though, is that he doesn't really stand out. I honestly don't know if that's from the cohesiveness of the unit, or that he doesn't play pedal-to-the-metal 100% of the time. But the fact he's been a starter since his freshman year and all conference 2 of the last 3 years, and is still only a junior says something.

The only question I would have is his strength, and/or explosiveness off the ball. He's a superior pass blocker, but hasn't faced that many monster NTs and DTs. Did a good job against Ngota this year, and admirably against Tommie Harris in '03 as a freshman. I'm not saying he's weak, I'm saying that because he 'blends in' so well with the rest of the interior, I don't know if he's got the muscle to drive off NFL defensive linemen. The good news is, he can probably build whatever he has up under the tutelage of a quality strength and conditioning coach.

He seems rather durable, too. I don't recall him missing many games due to injury.

To be honest, I'm not even sure he's declared or even planning to declare himself for the draft.

Two thoughts that don't directly relate to the draft but might influence it:
#1) I imagine Eric Moulds goes to Indianapolis to replace Reggie Wayne, but he sure would look nice in a Panthers uniform.

#2) If the Texans really are crazy enough to draft Reggie Bush #1 overall instead of trading for picks to use on the offensive line, I would absolutely love to trade for Domanick Davis.

Pinegar will go down statistically as one of, if not the greatest QB in Fresno State's history. Here are his numbers:

Season .....G..... Rat..... Att..... Comp..... Pct..... Yds .....TD..... Int
    2005 ........12 ....149.7... 386...... 246....... 63.7.... 3122.....29...... 13
    2004 ........12 ....135.3 ...292 ......173 .......59.2 ....2099 ....23 ......15
    2003 ..........9 ....116.1 ...294 ......174 .......59.2 ....1773 ....11 .......9
    2002 .........11 ...............403 .......236 ......57.1 .....2292 ...20...... 10

    TOT: .........44 .............1,375 ......829 ......60.3 .....9,286 ...83..... .47

The problem isn't really his arm, although his accuracy could be better (wasn't near where Carr's, Volek's, or Dilfer's was).

No, the problem is a serious lack of intangibles. No leadership, shaky confidence, and goes into 'Fromunda' mode anytime he makes a mistake. The Pinegar America saw in the first half of the USC game was NOT the QB I've known and grown to despise. The Pinegar from the second half of the Oregon game is.

Eric Moulds would look really good in a panthers uniform. He still has some skills.

We have not had that guy but there have been times it would have helped out. I think Jenkins would be even better paired up with a big guy inside. That being said I am pretty happy with Carstens and would not have a problem with leaving him in there. Our run D is as good as it has ever been with him in there. Certainly it is not all to his credit but he can not be much of a liability either.

    Another idle thought:
Will Adrian Peterson be a better pro than Reggie Bush? I think so. As a freshman, Peterson was probably the best college running back I've ever seen. I don't know exactly how to explain why his frame looks so much different from anyone else's except to compare him to LeBron James. Peterson looks like a super-sized human being, and I'm anxious to see how he responds next season.

He had a bum wheel this year didn't he? Screwed up an ankle in the opener, right?

Yeah - I don't think Bush will be a great NFL running back. That being said, he's an amazing talent and hopefully he'll find a home in an offense creative enough to utilize him without killing him, like the Bucs did with Cadillac.
