I'm pretty sure I remember reading somewhere that he bulked up and came in heavier than expected. From what I understand a ton of people were impressed by that. I'm betting the weights you're seeing are his college weight still listed, but he's quite a few pounds heavier than that now.

I'm thinking maybe they mean early on, and could develop into a starting back??

No, I don't buy that line. He'd be awesome in a 3rd down role, but it's not as if he's that limited by his size. Should he have a compliment? Probably. One you give tons of carries and Williams a few? No. Could he fit behind, say, a Curtis Martin or a Tiki Barber and not be a waste? Of course. That was an odd-assed thing to say, limiting him to 3rd down like he's Dave Meggett.

These are written by "GM Jr", though I imagine he'd have a bit more credability if he just sold himself as his name. I think it's Russ Lande. He had a draft guide, of which I've never read.
He's a lot like Brady. He's the best QB out this year, undoubtedly. I've only heard a few things openly doubting him, but the NFL Draft special on ESPN a few days ago did light him up hard. Questioning his arm strength, questioning him compared to Carson Palmer, since he doesn't run quite as fast. Questioned his ball placement, which is something valid at times. Undoubtedly, he's a physical talent who's performed, started for 3 years. That alone should erase most of the questions; him being a leader? Check. Led to three championship games, winning two. Can't ask for much more than that. Played in a pro system, under a pro coach, so it's not as if there's a product of the system situation. The speed issue? ehh. Keep a good line around him. That's kinda universal anyway. He's not slower than most QBs, he's simply average. His footwork isn't a problem at all, his awareness in the pocket isn't a problem.

I believe it's a lack of him having a defining pick destination. If he had a lock in being the #2, there wouldn't be questions. I don't see how he falls out of the top 5, but when a guy so highly talented isn't seemingly as highly sought as QBs generally are, it makes people second guess, and react to thoughts that he'll drop like Rodgers.

I prefer going by the college weights because those guys have already been through a weight program wherever they went to school. I think playing weights are more accurate than whatever they bulk up to at the combine, simply because it's more representative of what they look like in football condition. It's the same situation with Thomas Davis, where he played at 220 for Georgia but supposedly bulked up to 230 by the draft, but looked 220 again when I saw him at training camp (although guessing a guy's weight is pretty hard, so maybe he was still 230, he just didn't look very big when I talked with him).

And yeah, maybe they meant that DeAngelo should start out as a backup, but the whole profile was pretty negative. In fact, almost all the profiles are pretty negative (although they liked LenDale White *mutter*).

It's worth noting that Brian Calhoun apparently ran a sub-4.4 40 on his pro day, but the fact that he ran in the 4.6s at the combine is still a concern to me.

College weights, heights, pretty much everything are notoriously inaccurate. Sometimes they aren't updated since they are freshman, sometimes they are inflated/deflated purposely.

Since we have LeFors it's unlikely, but I'm really falling for the idea of taking Kellen Clemmons in the third (if we get one for RMJ and don't trade it) or fourth round.

Probably long gone. He's supposed to be one of the fastest risers.

Apparently Klopfenstein isn't a good blocker either, so I don't know who we would look at as a possible second round TE. We might just ignore the position altogether.
