I know, Magnus said it too. I still think we draft a Safety even if we sign one. Maybe a nickel guy, but we draft one.

I still like Landry in the first, if we can get him.

So you propose improving safety via free agency?

Actually, if I had a wish list, it would be Reggie Nelson, Jarvis Moss, Patrik Willis, Laron Landry, in that order. But based on most of the mocks I've seen lately, Nelson won't be there at 14.

You get the idea that neither Landry nor Nelson will be there at 14 but I can not remember two safeties going in the top 13. It may have happened but if so I bet it is rare.

the "players i know about" draft

14 -- Lawrence Timmons, LB, Florida State -- need him on special teams

46 -- Brandon Meriweather, FS, Miami -- need him to hit people

78 -- Lorenzo Booker, RB, Florida State -- need him to return kicks and for 3rd downs (especially when deshaun wears down after next season)

112 -- Noland Burchette, DE, Virginia Tech -- athletic and can move to LB if need be.

those florida guys would be good to get -- especially nelson.

Draft a special teamer number 14 overall because he went to FSU? :poke:

    uh, that's a starting linebacker -- but he'll also be a hell of a first-year special teamer.

i'd rather have nelson, if he's there. would mean we wouldn't have to take a headcase like merriweather.

besides, i said it was only players i knew. college football wasn't fun to watch a lot of this year. for me.

Interesting that no one went with an OL in the 1st. I know its an awkward spot for OL this year.

I don't think we take the helmet basher in the 2nd (Merriweather).
