If the returner happens to be a WR, that's fine, but we need a person who returns kicks and punts well and it doesn't matter whether they play WR, CB, or OG. As for RB, I still hold out hope that we'll let Foster go and save that cap space, at which point it wouldn't hurt to add a guy in the middle rounds.

I really doubt we would let Foster go, and were we, I could see them staying with the three they have. RBs also rarely return punts.

Kevin Faulk, Mewelde Moore, Chad Morton, Alvin Pearman, Reggie Bush, etc. It's not that unusual.

Darren Sproles, yes. I know that some can. You'll notice I didn't say they never can. It's certainly more unusual than CBs or WRs that do both, yes. We've only had one that could (Oliver) and one we forced to do it (Bates).

WRs are more common yes, but you said "rarely," which wasn't accurate.

I'd stand behind that, sure. I count 5 of the top 30 returners this year as RBs.

I certainly won't simply because you feel I am, no. I don't feel that RBs return punts all that often at all.

I gave you Kevin Faulk, Mewelde Moore, Chad Morton, Alvin Pearman, and Reggie Bush. You also noted that Darren Sproles would have returned punts until he injured himself, since he did last season. Plus other guys like Westbrook have done it until they became too valuable to risk. Hell, the top punt returner of all-time was a RB (Brian Mitchell). So was the third of all-time (Dave Meggett). It's true that WRs do it more often, but it's not "rare" for a RB to handle punt return duties.
